A Possible Perspective: The Conscience is a Matter of Time in Emergent Systems
In emergent biological systems, Prof. Llinas states it is possible, after passing a threshold in non-biological emergent systems that a certain degree of conscience appears with evolution, promoting higher levels of conscience. If we observe present day machines, we see that characteristics of individuality and autonomy already appear similar to that of human beings.
